Irish Ferries / ICG have today announced the addition Tallink’s Star to their fleet, initially on bareboat charter for 2 years with the options to extend and purchase the vessel.

Star was built in 2007 in Finland for Tallink Grupp, with a capacity for 2,080 passengers in 134 cabins, and over 2,380 lane meters for cars and freight.

On joining Irish Ferries, she will be renamed Oscar Wilde, becoming the second vessel to carry the name.

The Oscar Wilde will initially enter service on the Rosslare / Pembroke route in early June, replacing the chartered Blue Star 1 for the busy summer period.
