Stena Line is to introduce a new temporary route between Belfast and Holyhead. The decision comes in response to heavy tourist demand on the company’s Liverpool and Cairnryan to Belfast routes, and is planned to run until July 18.
Stena Estrid will operate the new weekend only route, departing Holyhead at 23:30 on Friday and Saturday nights, returning from Belfast at 09:30 on Saturday and Sunday. The new route will reduce Holyhead – Dublin to a single ship service at weekends, however demand for passenger traffic into Ireland remains low as a result of ongoing pandemic travel restrictions.
