IF taking no chances tonight's WB crossing from Dublin cancelled as is the return. Sunday's 0200 OW and return cancelled with the later 0805 and 1430 "in doubt" From Rosslare tonight's IOI  and it's return cancelled as is Sunday mornings. Stena not showing and delays or cancellations from Dublin but tonight's Europe crossing is cancelled.

I donít ever recall they said when Ulysses would be back? Nothing concrete as their sailing updates/booking engine was/is very fluid anyway.

She is appearing on the timetable again from Friday 1st February 2019. That date could slip.

IOI departs for Birkenhead on 4th Feb 2019.

Dublin Swift to Drydock in May when some engine parts arrive.

The Drydock was moved a week to allow time to bring WB Yeats into service.

Or two...

No surprise really Irish Ferries went for a low key entry into service given the problems they've had with Yeats.

They are getting a mauling in the press about taking the NTA to court over their decision to award compensation to the 30,000 or so who's sailings to France where cancelled, and the conflicting information they have put out about the reasoning for pulling the Rosslare to France route.

Meanwhile, FSG are in serious trouble as a result of the losses they've made on the Yeats contract

With HONFLEUR already confirmed as delayed and with no revised delivery date yet given, it's reasonable to assume there could be a knock-on effect on the other Irish Ferries vessel.  If it gets built at all!  Hopefully the negotiations between FSG and the various other parties will result in a successful outcome.

I still suspect that the problems with Ulysses from last summer were not fully resolved, or perhaps another serious issue was discovered during her long dry docking in H&W whilst undergoing repairs to her prop shaft and that this is the reason for her extended dry docking this year. Since she returned from those repairs she had more cancellations "due to weather" than she had had in her previous 17 years of service. The search engine which had her back on the 3rd has now put her return back to the 6th February.

Ulysses was always going to need time in Drydock to sort out her ailments. its possible more parts were ordered last july for replacement during this drydocking.

There is also the possibity some of the tech fitted to WB Yeats is also being installed in Ulysses,

Ulysses is appearing on the freight timetable next wednesday

Whe is due back on Holydead - Dublin next sunday.

WB Yeats heading across the Irish sea into seems to be making 22 knots, a little faster than Stena Adventurer.  Wind is gale force 8 [37 knots] [South Westerly] and the seas are 3.7 metres at buoy M2. Nothing moving on the Southern Corridor [where it is rougher].
First time WBY has gone out into an Irish sea gale. It will be interesting to see how she manages docking in Holyhead.

Irish Ferries have cancelled everything tonight.  Epsilon and Inishmore were cancelled all day.
Oscar Wilde is delayed leaving Cherbourg until the morning.

Irish Ferries are ruthless and dont care for their crews because the onus is on the agency for crew welfare
Its unbelivable they still call themselves Irish
Karma one day.
