Ireland - Spain would be out with the Emissions Control Area, though you'd be up against LD Lines with a larger and more efficient vessel.

Where you could potentially gain an advantage of LD though could be by operating direct to Spain, the LD Lines service operates via france.

Though, that would depend on Larkspurs service speed, whether or not she is actually fast enough for this difference to be noticeable.

Have you considered stand-up. Brittany ferries dont have money to throw away, maybe they think their new ship will be in the fleet long-term, whereas Irish Ferries are, rumoured, to only have Epsilon short term.
