So not just the 'word' around here in Rosslare but in Dublin too folk seem very convinced that the Europe will be gone before the year ends, I heard the same story up in Dublin last week that Stena was to move one of the Dublin fleet (Normandy I think) to the Rosslare route and one of the Superfasts to Dublin, it makes some sense I guess but has anyone got any more on this?

I think from what I have picked up on a thread on Facebook that Ernst Munk guy who was on here talking about buying Julia purchased this vessel and another one, no idea if theres any truth to that.

Hi there, sorry about the extra long delay of posting, I've been stuck with barely functional mobile broadband lately as the dish came off my house while I was away so I've not been able to upload pics or anything.

First and foremost a Major thank you to Brendan (MAKman) for arranging a bridge visit on the Ulysses for me, obviously the bridge of the Inishmore impressed me but the Big U is an insanely vast bridge, I had a great snoop around and checked out the various devices and gizmos, got some pics too which will be uploaded soon as I get normal internet on the go again. There was some good rainfall and some swelling when I was on the bridge which just added to the experience, I'm sure nobody else would notice these things but I was extremely impressed by the wipers. Another big thanks has to go to Andy who accompanied me to the bridge for the visit and Captain Calum who had an amazingly vast knowledge and interest of all things maritime.

Got lots of pictures of the techy stuff and GA plans and the likes and of course the weather equipment, my father really enjoys seeing that as he is a retired meteorologist.

As if all that wasnt enough for an awesome experience after the bridge visit I got bumped up to the premier lounge, yet again I come away from an experience onboard Irish Ferries 110% satisfied, I started my journies with IF in the mid eighties and things have changed a lot since then, I have yet to have a complaint about the lads.

So again a MAJOR thank you to you Brendan, Andy and Calum and Irish Ferries in general, thank you for giving me another great experience and I am very much looking forward to my next Irish Ferries journey, would love to travel through the night on Ulysses next, pref in the stormy winter.

Bridges have changed a lot since my first bridge visit as a nipper to the Lady of Mann.

i think rosslare has plenty of potential for both cargo and passenger routes but this would require certain investment and most importantly the people in control of the harbour now would need to be sacked, theyve sabotaged the place for long enough

What the actual f**k? How was kept so quiet? Any more details on this, will Celtic Link continue as a brand or will Stena Line devour the brand. Most importantly is the Rosslare Route staying?

Hello all, I'm planning a journey on the Big U next weekend, was wondering if anyone can get me in contact for a bridge visit? The last one (as you heard) was stunning with thanks to Gerry and Derry on the IOI, could anyone point me in the direction of getting one for sunday 02/03 on the afternoon sailing from holyhead?

As ever many many thanks

I'm not sure the extent of the damage to Nordica but I do know she's damaged, this would make it more or less certain she will be crushed, sad end but she was quite old too, that being said a very handsome ship

These guys also own the former "Stena Nordica" that served in Rosslare/Pembroke/Fishguard routes, she is currently laid up in a damaged state after a collision, i think its almost 4 years shes laid up now maybe a little less, I would assume this development will send her the way of the breakers too, assuming she hasnt headed there already.

I suspect Kaitaki may stay there for the foreseeable, Much as I'd love to see her back I just dont think we will, I think her charter was extended recently and she's just had a major refit (for the worse I think), a lot of the interior was 'modernized' with big pictures of sports people pretending to have personalities and sterile (for want of a better word) furniture
