The News Board / Re: WB YEATS Dublin Bound
January 22, 2019, 10:08:26 PM
I watched her arrive on berth on Marinetraffic at exactly 18.55 so over 3 hours to be turned around. Obviously on the first days it will take time all staff to become familiar with the layout.

One passenger on twitter on the morning sailing reported a ramp issue in Holyhead.

The 25th is whats showing on the booking engine since the start but you would think they might make an effort to get wb in service  to cover dry docking. If it a paper work issue we just have to hold tough.

It will be an excuse for another trip for me anyway.

Greetings from the Irish Sea onboard Adventurer, both Ulysses and Epsilon are right infront of me. Ulysses off to Liverpool and Epsilon left well after us but has overtaken us

Was really hoping to be on WB Yeats this morning, but that is the luck of the draw I suppose.

its hilarious that  the dry docking schedule for next week is still  is subject to confirmation.  they have Oscar down to France on Tuesday for freight customers but you cannot book it on Irishferries.com so its going to be a very empty sailing if its freight only.

I am hoping to travel to Holyhead on Tuesday but they are not open for booking for rail sail passengers because they 'are awaiting confirmation of there dry dock schedule and which  ferrys will  be operating.'

We no office staff over the weekend it will be Monday before I can get an update.

I will probably go Stena but was hoping to go IF with WB Yeats making an appearnce.

I made a quick trip to the UK last week.
Thursday night on Ulysses on Eurolines.
Ulysses was quiet, only about 2 lane of trucks along with the 2 coaches  on deck 5. Perfectly smooth sailing.

One of the main reasons for my trip was to take a sailing on the Oscar Wilde.
I sailed on Saturday morning from Holyhead. 4  Foot passengers in total. Check in opened at 7.50 and we we left terminal at 8 on the dot.

the very poor quality of the shuttle bus is by far worst part of these trips along with the cold miserable area they hold passengers in after going through security.

Oscar Wilde is fantastic ship very impressed with quality of the finish. Again very quiet, I know its January.
The Merrion lounge is closed for refurbishment.
Sailing left early and the captain took full scheduled time to arrive in Dublin. Sailing conditions very calm. only negative is the was a lot vibrations/rattles in middle of the ship around the bar.

Took about 15 mins to get off via mini van.
Very enjoyable trip.

Have yet to travel on the New Swift and obviously cant take to get a trip on the Yeats. not bothered about Epsilon.

Nordica went for a spin from Rosslare this morning. I presume she is running tonight according to the website.

Hi folks looking for an educated guess. I want to travel on Oscar Wilde before it disappears.

I was considering doing it next week.
Looking at the booking engine Oscar is covering Ulysses and there is no sailings on the Epsilon roster.

What are the chances of this changing to WB Yeats covering Ulysses and IF opening bookings for the 08.30 ex Holyhead with Oscar.

Epsilon is due to sail to Brest later today. Maybe a freight only run as it does not appear on the timetable?
is there a dry dock in Brest?

From the New Year the morning sailing from Holyhead is changed to depart at 08.15. and timed to take 3.5hrs to make the crossing,

Swift sailing times starting March 14th.
Depart Dublin at 07.30  and 13.50
Depart Holyhead at 10.40 and 16.45
each sailing timed for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

personally, I think its a bit early for the Swift leaving Dublin at 07.30.
