its a shame irish ferries could do with doing a few crossings with silja line or viking line or color line there are real cruise ferries

the OW is the last of the cruise ferries around here maybe the pont aven is one ive never being on her

Great ship good layout a throwback to the old ferries of the 80s reminded me a bit of the St Killian, she will be missed
not as much character on the new ferries.

I just heard from a reliable source  who has seen the Oscar wilde today.  She has had some New paint work, her name and her Logo have remained and possibly being re painted. As we know I.F. are very tight lipped about it but if  there are any clues  this Probably means she must not going anywhere but where would she be deployed if she is staying in the fleet  ??

Lack of berths in Dublin meant the WB spent the night at anchor just outside the port (quadrant 1) she moved onto berth 49 this morning but will have to move off to let Swift in and out this afternoon. Oscar Wilde is scheduled to leave H&W today destination unknown.
HSC Manannan which is currently in dry dock at Cammel Lair is due in Dublin tomorrow for trials! perhaps she has had some structural work done like new ramps?

I some how suspect Irish Ferries will lease out a ferry to Brittany Ferries to meet British Goverments Agreements regarding Brexit,

While Oscar Wilde is available she does not have the freight capacity to meet the requirements.

I would not be surprised if Isle of Inishmore or Epsilon goes on charter to Brittany Ferries with Oscar Wilde taking over Rosslare - Pembroke run for the summer.

god i dont know about that the inishmore is perfect for ross-prembroke she is the workhorse of IF never given any problems
where the OW has struggled on that run plus the double ramps in both ports would be a waste
IF would be crazy to get rid of her and i dont think they will,
the OW is the only ship that will go this year they they are getting rid of ships
she is overnight vessel after all

As expected not a good year.  Nothing on Oscar but they have reiterated that Epsilon is staying until Nov 2020.  Still trying to suggest the Rosslare withdrawal is the NTA's fault, despite the fact that they cut back the route long before there was any issue with Yeats never mind cancelled bookings!

WB Yeats Press day,

They have a clip up showing their fleet for 2019, WB Yeats, Ulysses , Dublin Swift, Epsilon and Isle Of Inishmore
which to me means that the OW will be sold or tied up somewhere

just seen new youtube clip irish ferries have out for 2019 of the fleet no sign of the oscar wilde on it, so guess that its for her so

I see Epsilon leaving the fleet in early November if Oscor Wilde is retained,

if she was sold you would imagine her new owners would be eager to have her for the summer and the elipson would be on ross-pembroke run

We have to see, when i travelled on her three weeks ago the crew appeared to be optimistic about her future.

They reckon she will be back on rosslare-roscoff?
its being left very late now at this stage alot of people will have their travels booked up by now
cant see them putting up a timetable from rosslare at this stage, the oscar wilde will be very empty for the summer if they did
unless they get rid of the eplsion and use the OW instead as freight runs to holyhead and france with future plan of putting her back on french run next year out of rosslare,but dont think that makes much sense.
also heard rumour IF have an eye on cork-roscoff for next year unless shes planned for there, which could make sense have the  dub-cherbourg on WB and cork-roscoff on OW unfortunately that still leaves rosslare out of the picture.

Isle of Inishmore is due back on Thursday.

I suspect the next announcement will be 14 March 2019 when Dublin Swift goes back into service.

we are all waiting with bated breath to see what happens to the oscar wide, where is she off to next,
how we all love to see her on rosslare - roscoff, but that seems to be very very slim chance of that happening
