Does anyone know why the Adventurer is cancelled for the next 24 hours? And why she isnt on her berth in HH?

In water survey and MCA drill according to a notification sent out from Stena Line

Cropped image of some very fresh paintwork on Oscar wilde . Please note on my previous post is pure speculation but by the picture below it looks promising

defo going by that she seems to be staying in the fleet
cork-roscoff(think port of roscoff confirm termination of irish ferries) or/brest?

Of course they're going to paint her if she needs it... and she badly needed it. Doesn't necessarily mean she's staying with Irish Ferries though.

They are increasing deck height on more of her main vehicle deck which is only really a requirement for the Irish Sea routes so I would safely say she will be retained at Rosslare for the foreseeable future.

I think I heard that Superfast X is either sold or in the process of being sold.

What's the delay with the Ulysses. Was expected back last week

I don't ever recall they said when Ulysses would be back? Nothing concrete as their sailing updates/booking engine was/is very fluid anyway.

WB Yeats left Holyhead on time and Stena Adventurer left quite late today (for their sailings arriving into Dublin at dinner time.) Can anyone explain why WB is now going along at 13 kts. Would it not be a slight bit of a competition. If WB Yeats gets in ahead. Why is WB letting the Adventurer overtake it like that. I understand if they're both going along at service speed. But it seems strange to slow right down to let the other ship overtake you?
Update 15:25: She's just turned North and is stopped. Very strange.

Do they not have slots for arrival at Dublin and each ship is allocated a place in the queue so I assume WB Yeats is letting Stena Adventurer in front of her as she normally has her allocated slot before Ulysses/Yeats?

She berthed last night and discharged before leaving the berth for shelter in the Lough.

She had no passengers onboard during the night.

Probably the same reason that SFX has been doing the same around Dublin Bay - either there are no safe berths available or it's too rough to attempt berthing

It seems that Dublin full of vessels sheltering from the conditions. The P&O ships seem to be sailing, as is the Stena Belfast-Liverpool run. Epsilon nearly got caught out again last night. She's currently being held against the berth by a tug in Cherbourg.

Similarly Superfast X's sailings were showing on Ferrycheck as cancelled so she is likely sheltering in the bay as there are no free berths or it may be deemed safer.

Superfast VIII been circling at the mouth of Belfast Lough for 12 hours, wonder why she sailed at all.

Her sailings were cancelled so I assume she had to get off the berth as it may be safer to be sheltering at sea rather than risk damage alongside. She will not have any passengers onboard.

I wonder if there is any truth in the rumour that WB Yeats has failed to secure the necessary certification to sail from the Irish authorities?

Surely Stena Europe has the new larger Stena Line hull logo? Was she not painted with it about 2009/2010? One would presume this is proportional to the dimensions of the ship and anything larger would look ridiculous!

Do we know which five ferries are being overhauled at Harland and Wolff?

Where is the Stena Europe going and when?

Stena Lagan, Stena Mersey, Stena Superfast X, Stena Superfast VII and Stena Superfast VIII each for two weeks at Harland and Wolff. Stena Europe is not going to Belfast this year which might suggest she will be having a more major overhaul - the life extension, perhaps?

Final report into Epsilon crossing during Storm Imogen in 2016

As far as I recall Stena Horizon went out a little earlier that night and sheltered in Torbay until the storm blew over. It would be interesting to know the decision making process of the Master of the Horizon.

It was the Stena Flavia as she was providing refit cover for the Stena Horizon at that stage.

I think you'll find they need a dedicated freight ship as opposed to something like Nordica or Epsilon which are passenger vessels. The reason for this is the inability of passenger vessels to carry many classes of hazardous goods which 12 driver RoRo ships are permitted to.

Typically I think the Belfast Telegraph has mis-reported this. After all, it was the BBC that the interview was with.

I saw that piece in Ferry & Cruise review too... it says the Hygge lounge is in the former under-used cinema on Superfast 7 & 8. It's not... it's in the room aft of the Taste Restaurant. I really wish these writers would do their research properly.

As far as I know there isn't one on Superfast 10. One of the cinemas on there was, I think, turned into a recliner lounge for truck and coach drivers as there are not enough cabin berths.
