Found more photos from turkey, seems that the Europe is now getting her windows replaced now as well. And you can see that on one of the photos, she has white paint applied to the frames on the outside...

If you check Jörgen's profile on FB you'll find a few more photos from the refit. Under the surveillance by managers from Gothenburg apparently.

Are you sure that Stena Europe will head for turkey? Or more likely that she'll be heading to Poland or Oresund docks in Sweden as an example??

No info yet on where the Europe is gonna be docked?? The trip to Poland, Sweden for example will take a few days....

But rumours still going that the Europe and nautica might be switching routes as well....

Why would Stena Europe even go to turkey for a refit when there are shipyards way closer, Poland or Sweden, Denmark for example??

Is there any source on this or is it just a rumour??

Looking at the Europe and when sailed on her in august, the so called "new stern ramps" are to me very likely to be prepared to fit the ramp in Gothenburg or another port like the new one in Halmstad if she is supposed to go there, might be wrong but.... And i mean, the rusted out bar that was running along the ship, might be as well be a preparation to make the MES possible. If she's supposed to be done soon why would they invest in new name signs on deck 10 and so on.

But there was a rumour that Stena also want to keep the Vision and Spirit going for TWENTY more years?!?! To me it would be very surprising it would. According to me Stena Line has the biggest quantity of old vessels (30+ years old) going in Northern Europe, and even if Stena Europe would be replaced and finished they still face the challenge of replacing the Saga, Danica, Nautica, Vision, Spirit and the Sassnitz on Trelleborg-Sassnitz route. Still so many of them left...

Article in Swedish, Stena Gothica is getting replaced by Hammerodde.

https://www.expressen.se/gt/stena-line-ersatter-danmarksfarja-med-nytt-fartyg/

Article says that there are also gonna be changes on the Karlskrona-Gdynia and the Travemunde-Liepaja routes as well!

Update:

http://www.mynewsdesk.com/se/stena_line/pressreleases/stena-line-foerflyttar-tre-fartyg-foer-att-staerka-linjenaetet-2540110

Steam Gothica will sail on Travemunde-Liepaja, Steam Nordica will return permanently to Karlskrona-Gdynia

We'll just have to wait and see, but i'm sure that 2020's will be a century that Stena Line will begin withdrawals of the 80's vessels.

But i can tell despite everything Stena Europe is in a decent condition though in my opinion, but we have to realise that age is catching up with her as well, and despite Stena Vision for example being 6 years newer you can clearly see that it has some wear and tear. The so called Comfort class cabins could do with a big refit, but only thing that has been done is to paint the walls in the bathrooms on them, and that's it, they've been like that since they left the Germany route in 2010.

The reason that Stena Danica may be in an excellent condition is because it stays in Gothenburg during the day some days, according to a friend who works onboard he tells me that it requires quite a lot of maintenance in the latest days, he's even had some questions from some Gothenburgers about when the Göteborg-Frederikshavn will have a new ship as the Danica has been there for all it's eternity...

Stena will have their hands full as the Stena Saga also is the same age as the Europe, the Danica turned 35 years this year....

And let's not forget that from my viewpoint Stena Line has the biggest quantity of old vessels in Northern Europe

My thoughts are if they choose to build the E-flexer 7 and 8 this will mean the Europe and Danica going at the same time
