All the suggestions in the industry point towards Stena using a single RoRo vessel on the route if they take it on.

I thought about that as a viability but really hard to see how the route would be useful with a subsequently sparce timetable

Id say personally its brexit freight volumes, regulations tightening again, old metal on the route relatively fuel thirstsy, very little passenger volume to spur ancillary revenue and this is what you have.

Might be room for the right operator to run freight only etc.

I also dont believe "theres no berth". Typically that means that theres no berth for the rate we want to pay. Id bet a contract renewal has come up and Peel have flexed their escalation clauses.

Anyway, just my two cents. Ive actually never sailed the route since the b&i days.

I gave up watching when he said Southern Ireland.

I wonder is she just making up time or do they plan on this as an inservice speed?

She regularly ran similar speeds between Tallin and Helsinki when i sailed her previously.

It would lessen the delta between Pembroke and Fishguard services but surely at that speed shed be better off on Holyhead runs.

I actually had the pleasure of travelling from tallinn to helsinki return around 2010/2011. It was very smart interior at the time. Fun breaking through ice entering helsinki too.

From what i remember the lower deck was simply an alcohol warehouse selling significantly lower than Finnish prices - people came off with pallets - wonder if IF will change that!
