She can dock on the North side of the pier at Cairnryan and not get in the way of normal movements whilst under repair?

Had to do a one day visit to a site at Dalkey a couple of weeks ago. Right on the shore had a great view of the Ferries heading in and out, luckily had my Panasonic TZ70 in my pocket, most of these taken at full 30x zoom, see more on my Flickr page by searching for Fergusdaddy.

Great to finally see Galloway Princess sailing again! Does this mean all 4 Saint Class ships are in operation, as the former St Christopher is also alive again, albeit with a shocking yellow paint job!

I wish they'd taken the opportunity to re-size and position the Stena Line logo and red stripe on the hull. It always looked too low down and too far forward previously, when there is acres of hull space to raise it up and move it back a bit.
I've never liked the logo-forward look on Stena ships, seems to curve round the bow on most and looks distorted as a result. It is fine on the Superfasts though, but most other ships it is just a tad too near the bow!
Stena Europe and Stena Nordica are the worst for this though, really needs the blue boot topping raised to at least the top of the belting and the red line applied straight!

Thanks, was watching the webcam there for five minutes going "move!"

Hope they raise the blue boot top to a straight line and give her a big Stena logo for her last livery, but doubt it, it'll be as squinty as ever!

Galloway Princess was the best looking of the Saint class, then St Anselm, the St Christopher didn't look as good due to the railings instead of plated passenger decks and the permanently squinty Sealink British Ferries blue line, which was still squinty when it became the red Stena Line, and don't even get me started on the St David with its lopsided stern bridge then the horror of the duck tail sponson!

Antrim Princess was always my favourite, looked better than near sister Ailsa Princess, which, although the extended white stripes on the funnel were cool, had that weird "stick for a mast" thing going on, both on the mast and the funnel!

When do the Cairnryan ships go for refit? Will they be getting their stern gates widened to make full use of the new linkspan?
I doubt it.  There would appear to be machinery in the way going by photos on the web.  I don't think they have any issues with turnaround times in any case

Seems a bit odd that for years they had ships twice as wide as the linkspan, now they've built one with ramps the ships don't use, and everything still drives on and off single file. The Mitsubishi sisters will be on this link for years to come, being the first purpose built ships the route ever received. I know the old ramp had to be replaced having been there since the dawn of time, but it's seems a bit of a waste to build a double width ramp and only use half of it, when the ships are clearly broad enough to be adapted, in fact, the stern ramps on both ships look like an afterthought to make them fit the old linkspan.

My parents passed through Algeciras and Tanger Med port in late November, and my dad got a couple of photos showing the Galloway Princess/Le Rif at Tanger Med, along with an older IMTC ferry. He said they were both docked in a separate part of the port away from the live ferry operations. He also saw the St Christopher/Ibn Battouta tucked away in a corner of Algeciras port. Even he recognised them both as former Stranraer ferries! (Although he did say the other IMTC ship looked like Antrim Princess, unlikely seeing as she was scrapped in 2007!)

Haven't seen any recent updates on either of these ships but would expect them to be bound for the beach very soon, leaving only the St Anselm and St David still working (I'm assuming St Anselm is still operating as Bari?)

It's great that all 4 are still currently in existence nearly 35 years on, and have almost outlasted contemporary vessels like the Spirit Class, Chunnel beaters, and even the HSS, but they can't have long left now. Makes me feel old as I remember them being built!
