here we are just entering feb

this is the most sailings ever missed in a year with nearly 11 months to go for this splendid ship
is age catching up

anyone think anything might be looking
is it a record time since last strike

my view is birkinhead Belfast
no direct competition
full ships
little weather disruption
on other hand maybe higher crew costs

if so what is leadtime
will it cause disruption in short term
interesting dynamic if stena have to invest in infrastructure at Holyhead to service bigger ships
likewise any investment needed in cherbourg

The News Board / how can stena out strategise irish ferries at holyhead
« on: February 03, 2018, 09:49:24 AM »
when the new ships arrive from if
then if will have 2 superior ships
current growth is in unaccompanied movements
if stena put a freight only ship on with clever timings could this be next step

Ulysses been off for 3 busiest days of week
epsilon also dropped a couple of sailings
no huge backlogs in either Dublin or Holyhead by tonight must will have shifted
has the growth bubble burst

The News Board / 2018 predictions
« on: December 16, 2017, 11:51:30 AM »
is the market starting to slow down
economic data not looking good
what impact on ferry industry
what impact will new irish ferries tonnage have
will continental freight volumes switch from rosslare to dublin

point is last 2 years Nordica has covered
very little available in charter market

does anyone think more sailings to from Holyhead including weekends  or week round sailings to continent from dublin

« on: October 19, 2017, 02:33:20 PM »
any update on this
is it going to happen
when will ramp infrastructure happen
will birkinhead or heysham services have to move during construction phase
surely you would expect to see work happening soon if these ships coming to belfast

business to Ireland is showing massive supply v demand pressure  ie demand isn't being met
can only mean rates to go up
likewise work from Ireland is showing major decline
all of this must have major implications for ferry industry
