If anyone around Cork has never seen an axe-bow vessel in the metal yet the Bourbon Clear is currently berthed at Cobh Cruise Terminal.
Below from www.shipspotting.com , a fine view of offshore vessels at Cobh.

What is she up to? Servicing porcupine basin?

They could be attached to any number of projects , from the construction of a new ro/ro berth at Ringaskiddy (yes its getting a second ramp) surveys , gas field maintenance , oil rig supply/consturction , hydro-carbon research , harbor survey , its a long list , given that these two are registered in Norway I suspect its something to do with oil.

There are two of these vessels tied up in Ringaskiddy at the moment, was down there today but had no camera d'oh!.

The Bourbon Clear and Bourbon Calm.

Very easy to see them from the ferry terminal building (just walk around the side and watch out for the rabbit holes)

Managed to get a few shots of it with Pont Aven this morning , having a lot of trouble posting pics at present , have managed to get 3 up on the IFE albums page , one has Pont Aven and Bourbon Clear in it , however there is a better shot of both which I am still trying to get up.

Here's one I took in May of the Bourbon Clear at Ringaskiddy.

So what's the advantage of a bow design like that?
