WB Yeats having trouble docking in Holyhead she made on failed attempt and is now making her way back in again.
Meanwhile in Dublin the Estrid is being held on her berth by 2 port tugs.

On the WB Yeats now, we are going to try and dock again now for the third time. Has been a long day, got a complimentary lunch...

Its depends on wave height tides and wind direction. IOI was pretty reliable during her stints on Dublin - Holyhead.

WB Yeats problems at holyhead today relate to her not having a rear thruster unit.

they might have to splash the cash and invest in a stern thruster

DaveW1946

More to the point, why was that not in the original design, knowing the ports it would be mooring at?

IFPete

As WB Yeats will spend most of its operating career on Dublin - Cherbourg the installation of a rear thruster would have created drag and added to her fuel consumption.

Build 777 will be build with a rear thruster installed.

WB Yeats is having a rest on Sunday with the 0805 ex Dublin and 1410 ex Holyhead cancelled due to technical reasons. Passengers transferred to Stena.
Are they expecting a man in a van to do some job on WBY?
