Stena Estrid went technical this morning and the 02.30 sailing from Holyhead departed at 11.15. therefore delaying the 0855 Superfast X until 13.15.

Stena Europe went technical for a few days last week and had a day off last Monday for essential maintenance. Along with bad weather its been very hit and miss on the Southern Corridor the last 2 weeks.

Stena Europe will be in Belfast from 19th March to sort out the ongoing 4th engine problem. All crew will be with the ship to train on the escape systems.  No replacement boat for estimated 10 days is planned, though as of Wednesay you could still book the route for that period.

Adventurer resumed her usual rota yesterday relieving Estrid. She will take over from SFX tomorrow evening according to the booking engine.

Perhaps they are using the down time to replace one of the large front facing windows on deck 7 which somehow lost it's inner pane.

That's it for SFX she's off to Belfast

Sweden's Stena Line will lay off 950 employees as a consequence of the dramatic drop in passengers. More layoffs could be in store.
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Ferry company Stena Line will cut 950 jobs in Sweden as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and the travel restrictions imposed by several countries, the company said on Monday.
The company was experiencing a "drastic decline" in travel bookings as a result, with the worst effect experienced in Scandinavia, it said. "At present, it is estimated that passenger operations will not recover before the peak season in summer," the company said in a statement.
