Stena Nordica has appeared on timetable for Jan 2020 providing cover on Gothenburg- Kiel, so looks like it will be covering fleet refit period for a bit next year.

Would imagine it will find some work between now and January.

For Irish Sea refits in 2020 Adventurer and Horizon are due to visit drydock, Superfast X can cover Adventurer when it's replaced by Stena Estrid assuming its on time, might they also use it to cover Horizon ( small number of cabins could be an issue)

Also could Adventurer get an interior facelift to keep up with the new look E-Flexer inside?

Stena Estrid appears to be on seatrails at the moment, last reading on Marine Traffic shows it at 23 knts, is currently beyond coastal AIS for accurate location.

I imagine either Nordica or something like STENA FLAVIA would cover Horizon if required.  SSFX would appear to be a very expensive way of covering the route.  No guarantees she would fit at either Rosslare or Cherbourg either though I'm sure this could be modelled (though that isn't 100% reliable).

Adventurer has been running about 2 hours late since yesterday. Any ideas as to why?

I believe she is running on three engines due to maintenance.

Stena Nordica switches flag to Sweden and home port Gothenburg?

Good spot, has not changed on ais yet.

Stena Estrid was at Weihai anchorage today and is on trails again, can not be too long till it departs China for Europe

Confirmation that Stena Estrid has been on seatrials from its ais.

It reached speeds over 25 knts over the weekend, so not too shabby for the first E Flexer.

No official word yet, but it will take quite awhile to reach Irish shores, so will have to leave China soon, one assumes it will need some minor work when it arrives, (tweaks/adjustments).

Here is a great feature with plenty of images showing the recently refurbished Stena Europe, plenty of images of the entire ferry where the new upgrades are clearly visible and you can check out the onboard spaces.

Thanks to all involved for posting these images and information.

Possibly the most comprehensive photo album for any ferry available on the web, stunning.

Stena Estrid is scheduled to be handed over to Stena Line soon and will then begin it's rather long delivery voyage.

Posted on the Facebook this evening by Steven Tarbox is the first official report featuring Estrid and Embla presented by Stena Line Senior Master Neil Whittaker

Currently onboard the Stena Europe travelling from Rosslare back to Fishguard. Was speaking to the steward in the Stena Plus Lounge. Said that reasoning for the life extension works and why it took so long was so that this ship will stay on the FIshguard route up to another 15 years. Said that it was done as the ramps in Fishguard cannot accept any of the larger ships in the fleet that currently operate across the Irish sea. Said that there were a lot of teething problems after the Europe had got back to the UK/Ireland from Turkey

STENA ESTRID has completed her sea trials successfully.  After some final finishing touches she will be delivered to Stena during November before making her way to the Irish Sea.

whilst we were on holiday a friend, who lives overlooking Rosslare Port, says they were woken up one night by a very loud bang. They reckon it was Stena Europe cloutng the dock side, and that sailings were cancelled for a couple of days. Anybody know anything?

Took a day trip to Fishguard last Tuesday, at 7 euro its good value. I thought that Stena Europe was looking good, the windows are replaced, the interior of the ship is spruce and she performed well in choppy seas. Met a chap who said he had been on the ship when it hit the wall while docking in Rosslare he suggested the ship swayed alarmingly but was otherwise not badly impaired.

On another subject with all this talk of scrubbers for the IF ships why wasn't Stena Europe fitted with scrubbers when she had her life enhancing refit?
