Stena Lagan and Mersey to be lengthened

https://www.shippax.com/en/news/sedef-shipbuilding-to-lengthen-stena-lagan-and-stena-mersey.aspx
Non-paywalled detail here.

https://www.niferry.co.uk/contract-signed-to-extend-stena-lagan-and-stena-mersey-for-new-role/

Thanks for the link, great info, going to have to be a new bow arrangement to get a bow door fitted, possibly similar to design on link below (scroll to image at bottom)

Going to be interesting where the Lagan and Mersey end up.

The linked design also uses a very narrow bow - I think it was Corsica Ferries that recently ordered a vessel based on this concept.  NAOS and Stena seem to think they have found a way around the problem - if they alter the bow design it will increase fuel consumption so it will be interesting to see what they have come up with!  A lot of advances have been made in hull design in the past couple of decades of course - after all E-Flexer will be able to do 18kts on around 10,000kW of power!

I like what they have done with the two tones of white.  Bit felicity-esque but more subtle!

Reported on The Facebook this evening that Europe is expected back in service during the next week, from that we can assume the mechanical gremlins that caused it to go to Liverpool are repaired, all relevant tests / certificates for MCA have been done to their satisfaction and that new MES has been tested and crew familiarization done

Mentioned is a return on Tuesday/ Wednesday, I would expect given that it has been in a Liverpool all week, all stores for crew and customers could have been loaded and it could be ready to go sooner than this !

Not likely... I see reported elsewhere she should start tomorrow evening if all goes to plan.

Europe is expected back in service tomorrow evening, returning in place of the Nordica on the 18.10 sailing to Fishguard, assuming no further hiccups !
