Europe at 19.7 knts in Celtic Sea approaching Lands End.

Expected into Liverpool tomorrow evening, should look well in the September sunshine.

Europe currently scheduled to return on 24 September according to live timetable.

I believe she is not going to Cammell Laird and instead will be berthed in Liverpool Docks. Surely if she was bound for Laird's her ais destination would say Birkenhead instead of Liverpool?

Just been met by Pilot boat, all will be revealed very soon.

Niall

Waiting now to enter the Gladstone Lock

IFPete

She must be going for interior decoration

Not sure the MCA would care too much about that!  Been published elsewhere that they are to sign off the work once its completed.  Its no secret that they were keeping an eye on things in Turkey either!

I have a pic on NIFS.  Cant upload here as it isn't my picture

Could it be that Birkenhead will do the sign off work. she doesnt need drydocking especially on MES and passenger areas.

Apparently needs work on one of the engines/ propulsion system, Reports on Facebook indicate that there are issues when they go in reverse, would assume parts are fabricated and in Liverpool ready to be fitted.

Nothing wrong with it going forwards achieving over 21 knts on way to Liverpool, obviously MCA certifying to be finished and the MES to be tested, crew training and finally stores to be put onboard before it returns to service.

She did also seem to have an issue with forwards at one stage of the journey as well, which would reinforce the theory something isn't quite right in terms of propulsion.  At one stage she appeared to be running on half power or less.  Wouldn't be the first time a vessel has come out of dry dock to go straight for further work.  I recall Oscar Wilde leaving H&W and heading almost straight to another shipyard instead of returning back to Rosslare a few years ago!  At least she is back in "home" waters, albeit a bit further North and East than she is used too!
