Are you sure that Stena Europe will head for turkey? Or more likely that she'll be heading to Poland or Oresund docks in Sweden as an example??

It's Turkey.  There's not a lot of places with the expertise with a 2.5 month slot to be honest!!!  There's a lot of technical work to be done after all, this isn't just a quick lick of paint!

As above I doubt there will be a press release.

VIII is scheduled to leave dd tomorrow evening with Nordica leaving for Rosslare in Sunday morning.  At present she is scheduled to take up the evening round trip ex Rosslare.

Superfast VIII delayed leaving drydock, Nordica arrival in Rosslare delayed by 18/24 hours which pushes back Europe's departure to Turkey until Monday evening at the earliest.

According to the AIS map the Nordica is en-route south now. Rosslare next

Nordica arrived in Rosslare this morning and took over from Europe this evening.

Some images of the Stena triple in Rosslare on the Facebook this evening.

Windy weather tonight might delay Europe's departure for Turkey.

Apparently Europe will make one last trip to Fishguard tomorrow to collect supplies and parts for the refit in Turkey,

The Life Extension refit will probably include

Major mechanical overhaul of engines / gearbox / shafts / rudders / thrusters

Full strip back of paintwork on entire hull to bare metal and complete repaint

Installation of MES - Marine Evacuation System - this will change the appearance with Lifeboat bits removed

Replacement of Windows and frames, cant beat some new double glazing !!

Replacement of railings and associated bits on deck 9 & 10

Possible other additions

Enclosed Bridge Wings ! keep the bridge crew indoors (though not essential would be nice for crew)

Revamp Stena Shopping - An area ripe for redevelopment - could be made bigger and more enticing

Behind the scenes bits we dont see like galleys etc will surely benefit from some TLC to bring them up to date.

Most other customer areas are expected to be left as they are.

All the changes will keep the Europe in good shape and is a big vote of confidence in the Rosslare - Fishguard route.

Stena Europe has left Fishguard now and is en route to Gibraltar according to AIS

Stena Europe has arrived in Gibraltar this morning, time for some fuel. Next up Istanbul.

Latest info is that Europe is going to the same shipyard that DFDS have used for lengthening the UND RoRo vessels,

This is some of the work they can do
