As soon as Yeats moves across to the Holyhead route I can see her heading into DD as has been rumoured since the start of the year.  Unless of course it is a worsening problem that needs immediate attention and the decision is taken out of ICG's hands of course!

Stena Carrier is still ancored in Dublin Bay.

20knots

She's now back in DĂșn Laoghaire - Carlisle Pier. Presumably to allow crew to come ashore/ transact business/obtain supplies.

Not sure when she arrived but was in Dublin Bay anchored last evening.

SEA

The Stena Carrier has departed Dun Laoghaire and is on her way to Teesport .

As predicted... chartered to P&O for the Teeeport-Rotterdam Route to replace Estraden.

Adding to this, ESTRADEN has replaced MISTRAL on the Teesport - Zeebrugge route hence giving P&O the capacity increase they were talking about last month.  Interestingly though MISTRAL is coming to "various" Stena Line Irish Sea routes on a sub-charter for a few months, according to her owners Facebook page a few days ago.

As mentioned in the appropriate thread, E-Flexer 1 has been confirmed as Holyhead bound, with 2 and 4 destined for Belfast - Birkenhead.  This will of course free up Stena owned (most likely) STENA SUPERFAST X, STENA LAGAN, STENA MERSEY and the additional freight vessel at Birkenhead (currently the chartered STENA PRECISION) for use elsewhere or charter.  Current speculation suggests STENA SUPERFAST X will make her way south to Fishguard to replace STENA EUROPE which by then will be almost 40!  What happens with Lagan and Mersey in the long term could depend on whether the final options on the E-Flexers are exercised and were they go of course.

When I was onboard the Stena Europe last year, I was told by an onboard officer that despite new ferries ordered that they need to keep the Europe for a couple of more years, because it has been told in the Swedish media that the new Halmstad-GrenÄ route might have a second ship added, so the scenario could be that they use the Superfast X on that route, or that Europe is replaced on the Fishguard route and will head over to Halmstad instead sailing alongside Stena Nautica. Another speculation suggests that Stena Nautica and Europe might even swap routes with each other next year already... But even if Europe is my favorite vessel, does Stena need more old timers there when they have a lot of them sailing in Scandinavia yet??

Talking about Stena Saga, Danica, Nautica, Vision/Spirit that are well beyond their 30's now. And you can notice that Stena Vision is becoming more unreliable now then ever before...

Superfast X could enhance the route more, Stena Europe is a aging vessel.

Stena will have their hands full as the Stena Saga also is the same age as the Europe, the Danica turned 35 years this year....

And let's not forget that from my viewpoint Stena Line has the biggest quantity of old vessels in Northern Europe

My thoughts are if they choose to build the E-flexer 7 and 8 this will mean the Europe and Danica going at the same time

IFPete

Fishguard would not generate enough freight volume to justify an e-flexer.

Its possible that Stena will operate a summer only service in the future with Irish Ferries doing the heavy lifting.

Steven

If 7 and 8 are ordered chances are they'll be for the Baltic.  Danica is apparently in excellent condition and Saga is a totally different type of vessel.  Actually both are really to be honest.  Unless there's a huge shift in traffic patterns the Baltic makes more sense.

It is still likely that Europe will probably be replaced by SFX in 2020.

I though e-flexer 2 and 5 were going to belfast. with 3 and 6 going to BF and 4 going to DFDS
