New Stena Line Commercial for UK and Irish market.

Don't think we will see those ships featured at the end on the Irish Sea anytime soon.

Ironically I think quite a bit of the commercial was filmed on the HSS vessels, I might be wrong but it does look like the HSS.

STENA NAVIGATOR operated the first in a series of Saturday afternoon Belfast Lough cruises yesterday in lieu of her 1330 sailing ex Belfast and 1730 sailing ex Stranraer which have been removed from the timetable on Saturdays until the peak season. She then worked a 1700 departure ex Belfast and 2200 from Stranraer while the STENA CALEDONIA operated her usual 2000 ex Belfast and 2359 ex Stranraer. HSS STENA VOYAGER does not operate at 1430 ex Stranraer and 1700 ex Belfast except on Fridays and Sundays at this time of year, so spends most of the day alongside at Stranraer following arrival on her 1145 ex Belfast until her 1955 return sailing.

As STENA NAVIGATOR was operating her evening round trip to Scotland, STENA SEAFARER was called in to work the 2230 ex Belfast and 0445 ex Stranraer this morning (Sunday).

SCOTIA SEAWAYS spent Saturday alonsgide at the ship repair quay at Harland and Wolff having Stena Line colours applied to her funnel. This means all four former DFDS/Norfolkline vessels now have full Stena Line funnels...

And, the new TV commercial was filmed onboard the HSS STENA VOYAGER while she was off service in Jan/Feb alongside at Belfast

The Stena Europe is going off service later this week for the engine replacement that they were unable to carry out during the refit in Belfast.

Wonder will they finish the exterior graphics with the blue wave and "making good time" branding this time ?

Stena Seafarer is heading for Rosslare to provide cover while the Stena Europe goes to Falmouth for its mechanical work.

STENA ADVENTURER is expected to refit at Harland and Wolff around 8th June for 2 weeks, during which time it is believed NORMAN TRADER will be brought in to cover (this ship is currently enroute to Dublin and expected to cover P&O refits on the Liverpool-Dublin route from next week).

During the Adventurer's refit it is possible that HSS STENA EXPLORER will operate 2 daily round trips to cover, together with STENA NORDICA and NORMAN TRADER (TBC)

It would seem that arrangements for the location of STENA ADVENTURER's refit are still unconfirmed and it looks like she could be heading to Lairds at Birkenhead and not Harland and Wolff. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

The Stena Europe has left Falmouth this morning and is on the way back to Fishguard, after getting its technical work carried out.

The Britannica has now been renamed Stena Scandinavica 4 on AIS and should be departing the Gdansk shipyard in the next few days prior to taking up service on the Gothenborg Kiel service alongside the Stena Germanica, allowing the current Stena Scandinavica to be refitted and then renamed Stena Spirit which will then replace the Stena Baltica on the Karlskrona Gdynia service.

Thus raising the question of where next for the Stena Baltica, will it be the Irish Sea replacing the Stena Europe on the Rosslare Fishguard route, the Dublin- Holyhead route replacing the Stena Nordica, replacing the hideous Stena Natica on the Grena - Varberg route !!!!! or maybe for sale to help offset some the millions Stena have spent this year.

Stena Scandinavica 4 has left Gdansk and is on the way to Gothenburg.

It called to the port of Kiel and carried out berthing trials as well.

New Stena ferry
sighted in the port of Kiel

Kiel - The next big ship in Kiel: put only a few hours on Wednesday morning, the new Stena Scandinavica IV "at the port. It was a successful test with a special meeting. A A A

The new "Stena Scandinavica IV" has passed its test launch in the port of Kiel. For nearly 90 minutes, the ferry was laid on the morning Schwedenkai. Shortly after 5 clock, the largest Ro-Pax ferry pushed the Baltic Sea to the berth. The ship arrived from the Polish Remontowa shipyard, where it had been obsolete since November and rebuilt.
New cabins were built and carried out a major overhaul. At the trial start in Kiel, the gangway ramps and tested. Also examined the German authorities, the certificates. All this took about 90 minutes. Shortly after 7 clock put the new ferry again and headed for Gothenburg.

A little later it came on the Kiel Fjord in front of Laboe to a rare encounter. The outgoing "Stena Scandinavica IV passed the next half-sister from Gothenburg Stena Germanica," which runs from September to the Kiel-Gothenburg route.

Wherever the STENA ADVENTURER goes for her refit, looks like she'll need a bit of 'panel beating.' I took this pic at Holyhead on 27th March :(

Looks like the Adventurer will be heading for refit at Cammel Laird, Birkenhead on 8th June for 12-14 days. Apparently, one of the main jobs is to complete the application of the new Stena Line livery including blue wave and 'Making Good Time'

June? Odd time for a refit...

Yes, apparently this is to allow the paintwork to be completed in better weather which was the main reason this wasn't finished at Belfast in 2009...
