QuoteI registered just to comment on this thread  :)

I am an Employee of Color Line and this ship was my second home for 11 years! She looks great now and I'm glad she didn't get junked  8-)

I'll always remember Christian IV with fondness and I was sad to see her leave our fleet.  :'(

I know what you mean , the old girl has that effect on people , during her Fastnet Line time I worked aboard her for a while also , I was devastated when she left Cork for the last time , like many I miss her dreadfully , but at least her new owners will look after her and she is looking very well these days , if nothing else at least her time in Cork prevented her from ending up at a breakers beach like many of her contemporaries , however given that she has been substantially reconfigured internally (cabins reduced from 300 to 150 ect) I dont ever see the old girl working as a car ferry ever again.
As for Swansea - Cork , as far as I know a viability study was completed , but no-one knows what it found , in fact , there has been nothing but silence since July , in the absence of any evidence to the contrary I believe this project is now dead.

I was at the Swansea terminal the other day and the place is falling apart. I hate to say it but I really can't see the service returning.

Well worth a watch. Very interesting. A few parts of the ship look unchanged, but stunning to see the amount of money that looks to have been spent on her. Looks like she has a great future. Sadly missed here though!

Great video , I really miss that low level hum her generators make when her main engines are disengaged.

Great video clip. Nice to see she has found such a good new use.

I've heard through the grapevine that the Wind Perfection is now set up to supply fuel to smaller ships so that some of the Officers have had to undertake tanker training.
I know some of you will say a Ropax as a tanker but I have this from the most reliable person.

The Julia has arrived at its new location in the Irish Sea as the Wind Perfection. off the coast near Fleetwood.

The Wind Perfection formerly the Julia from Fastnet Line is inbound to Liverpool this evening taking a break from its accomodation duties at the Windfarm construction site.

Very tragic , but am very confused about their description of the accident , I have been on that section of the ship and I dont see how you could fall from there , unless you were doing something really stupid , that assumes however that the location given is correct , there is another area nearby where one could have a serious fall if not paying attention though.
