Berth 49 is 213m, there are longer berths in port the Alexandra Basin has berths that are in excess of 240m ie the Oil berths. As the entire port is redeveloped, mainly to cater for cruise ships, bigger and better berths are proposed including a central "Multi User Check In" for all ro/ro traffic (cars and freight) coming into the port and a single entrance and exit from the port for all traffic. The masterplan involves a lot of redevlopment of existing sites and the reclamation of substantial lands on both sides of the port is envisaged.
