how can stena take 2 ships from north sea to ireland and not immediatley replace

From the outside it does seem very strange.

Bore Bay is being transferred to North Sea service to make up some of the loss.

( with hindsight Stena Line should probably have kept Stena Carrier on charter and it could have been additional cover when Ulysses was in drydock and moved to North Channel after)

Forerunner move is temporary so would expect next sister ship to come free from Stena RoRo to move to North channel operations.

SOMERSET has now been brought in to the North Sea, effectively bringing the number of ships back to normal.
