The Stena Adventurer has re-entered service in a new Stena Lines livery , the Adventurer is the first Stena ship on the Irish Sea to carry it.

Stena Caledonia and Stena Navigator have been totally branded in the new livery with larger 'Stena Line' and blue wave with 'Making Good Time' strapline. The new Stena Hollandica and Stena Britannica were delivered in this livery while Stena Germanica and Stena Vision in Scandinavia have it too.

Stena Adventurer, Stena Nordica and Stena Europe currently only have the larger 'Stena Line' applied, but with the Europe due in Harland and Wolff, Belfast tomorrow for refit, she should receive the blue wave and 'Making Good Time' too. Stena Adventurer goes for refit in June and should be similarly treated then.

The HSS's are not likely to be repainted as they are unlikely to operate for Stena for much longer - Stena Voyager is due to be removed from the Belfast route when the Stranraer terminal is moved to the new Loch Ryan Port in Scotland this coming Autumn.

That is so sad that the HSS is being dumped out of service like its unwanted

Had some great sailing on the HSS

Any news on the new 'old' ferries that will replace her?

It would seem that the Superfast 7 & 8 are being sized up for the new Belfast / Loch Ryan Port route.

Since my last post it would appear that Superfast 7 & 8 are indeed in the frame for this route.

A scan of various sites would indicate that there is a major refit required before arrival at Belfast.

The accomodation currently in place will be surplus to requirements for a short sea crossing and if the current 3 vessels are replaced by 2 then probably more lane metres are required for vehicles.

Even with the current three ships on the Belfast route, they are operating at well below capacity at the present time, so the Superfasts may well actually be too big in terms of vehicle capacity, even in their current incarnation...

Stena line on their corporate website on 7th March,
confirmed that Superfast 7 & 8 would indeed, after modifications, take up station on the Belfast / Old point(cairnryan) route.
