Stena Europe is out of drydock in Liverpool (alongside a quay at the shipyard) and expected back in Fishguard on Saturday to resume service on Sunday for the final four months of its service on the Rosslare route.

Hopefully the jack up rig is now back in place and the Europe can return to using the side loading ramp for cars in Fishguard

She was in drydock for only 3 days and has since been in the Tranmere Basin.

I saw that alright but still does not confirm the increase in PAX volume.

Scott Mackey tells me that the aim is for a passenger capacity of up to around 700 which is more than sufficient for the route 99.9% of the time.

Not sure I can see a 1000 PAX increase from a Stena plus and Hyyge lounge on deck 10. Have the new specs been published yet?

Based on above would the Star go to Dover and Inisheer to Rosslare ?

Another option is Visborg (assuming finished charter with DFDS) Destination Gotland don't need both Drotten and Visborg, they only need one to cover the Summer alongside Visby and Gotland.

If both Stars are bought, I would think BS1 stays in Rosslare and BS2 takes over for Epsilon, Inisheer remaining in Calais.

With the reduction in PAX capacity on Rosslare - Fishguard with Nordica replacing Europe, there would be a need to have greater capacity through Pembroke.

Totally forgot about Visborg, would make a good replacement in Rosslare, good PAX capacity but reduction in lane meters again, however with shift of traffic away from Landbridge may be a practical alternative for sure.

Nordica is getting as full rebuild in Gdansk and will have 99% of the pax capacity as Europe has now.

She's heading back to Dunkerque to take up her Rosslare service alongside Visborg whil Optima Seaways returns to the Baltic

There is no competition for foot and car passengers on the Irish Sea, which is visible from the pricing.  Compare to the UK - France and Netherlands pricing.

A cost duopoly exists between Irish ferries and Stena.  It needs a third entrant from Dublin to Holyhead to shake things up.

Surely if Inishmore were to return, she would have to be converted back to fit the linkspans again. Then they may have to modify any potential replacement at Dover.

True. Cant see Inishmore returning to Rosslare any time soon.

Inishmore's stern ramp is stored at Fayard. It wouldn't take much work to remove her cow catcher also

Stena Estrid on her way back to Dublin from Belfast to take up her afternoon sailing to Holyhead

Stena Estrid is due back in Holyhead tomorrow night as SVIII is out of dry dock and is due to return to service early tomorrow morning.

She's back at the cuise terminal in Cherbourg

Yes she is until Santona replaces Galicia which in turn will replace Salamanca on the Rosslare service.
