What was the rational of putting Stena Estrid on Stena Adventurers roster.
She has less freight and passenger capacity.

Exactly - it won't happen if you ask me

Would Superfast X not be suitable for Frederickshaven Goteburg or Frederickshaven - Oslo or a new route Belfast - Troon.
Apart from the fact Belfast to Troon makes little sense due to it being just as quick (not to mention cheaper) to sail to Cairnryan and drive than to cross by conventional ferry, there's absolutely no hope of getting a vessel the size of X berthed at Troon!  European Causeway is about as big as will go.

Gothenburg to Frederikshavn is configured with one more passenger orientated ferry (the still extremely popular and well maintained STENA DANICA) and one Ro-Pax (STENA JUTLANDICA).  Both are also purpose built for the route of course.  Freight demand has increased and so a third vessel has been added (currently STENA VINGA).  Shoehorning X in as a replacement for either of the main vessels just doesn't make any sense - Jutlandica has about the same freight capacity and more passenger capacity than X.  Danica has more passenger capacity.  X is no freighter either.

The Oslo route is more of a cruise ferry route and geared towards that traffic.  X is many things but a cruise ferry isn't one of them.  Saga also has a heck of a lot more passenger capacity than X.  It's hard to see where Stena could move X within the current Stena Line network to be honest.

My guess is that Stena will charter X out or will put it up for sale. Most likely will end up in the Med somewhere.

I would say it's almost certain they will move the ship on as there is no place for her in Stena Line's network.

can be rosslare cherbourg for superfast x?

Superfast X only has less than 50 cabins so she would be far from suitable

when does stena europe come back?

Surely she was meant to be back long before now?! She's in danger of missing the entire summer season if she's delayed much more. I know someone who emailed and asked Stena Line and they don't even really know!

I wonder if there are capacity issues with the Nordica given we are now in the middle of the summer peak?

When will Stena Superfast X be receiving attention to her bow door.

I believe it's her bow ramp as opposed to the bow door. It will be difficult to sort at this time of year given they are now in the summer peak. She may have to be taken out of service to fix it so when could they do that or what could cover her? Nordica when she's finished at Fishguard?

It looks as if European Highlander is delayed in dry dock. I heard someone suggest perhaps up to 3 weeks which will surely mean European Causeway cannot go to dock this side of summer?

Could we see European Seaway heading back to Dover for the peak season and then returning to cover for Causeway at Larne later in the year?

Rumors going that the Europé might be a bit delayed, anyone here who has a clue on how they are proceeding? Photos etc?

I think someone said it could be mid-July before she is back now. Most of the work is under the skin as you'd expect so don't expect any major cosmetic changes inside or out.

New waterjets are being installed.

I believe it is Azipod thrusters and not waterjets

W B Yeats docks bow first in both Cherbourg and Dublin. Is there a reason she doesn't use the stern ramps?

She berths stern in at Dublin when on Cherbourg service and bow in when on the Holyhead run

There was no sign of any change of flag on last Sunday 28 April in Belfast

Her flag was changed yesterday and I believe she may be keeping the same name.

SFX seems to be docking in Dublin stern in, does anyone have any information as to what the reason for this change is?

Problems with her bow ramp.

Work also started on the top deck of the shore linkspan at their Dublin berth this week, meaning both Adventurer and Superfast X can only load through their main decks and use internal ramps to access the top deck.

There are still rumours of a rosslare service for 2020,

As she is still on IF books until the last installment you never know what could happen,

Hard to see how as she will be in Italy. I believe they are to hand her over to the Italians in the next few days.

No, as above, she has been sold and will operate for GNV in the Mediterranean.

whats the plan for the ship between now and spring 2020?

Fitting out. It's clear from the photos that she is currently just an empty shell and there's lots of work to be done.

Did Adventurer dry-dock this year?

No, she dry docked last year and I think it's bi-annual for Stena Line ferries now apart from the Europe but that's undoubtedly because of her age .
