Just noticed that Brittany appear to have removed their dedicated Honfleur site @ destinationhonfleur [dot] com

Brittany ferries said a couple of weeks ago that they were temporary shutting the site because the ship is not going to be delivered this year due to the shipyard being temporarily closed due to covid-19

FSG filed for insolvency last month, so it's not a temporary closure anymore. It'll only reopen when they've gone through the German insolvency process

Build 777 is not due until late 2020 , December 2020 if everything goes to plan. Epsilons lease is due for renewal Nov 2020.

In their half year results ICG said they've a further 1 year option after that if needed. Covering themselves for delays by the sounds of it

Weather Cancelation tonight.

Not Stena... Isle of Inishmore is cancelled for a roundtrip supposedly due to the weather 🤔

Yeats delaying departure out of Dublin till 10 tonight. Weather being blamed also. Guessing they're trying to avoid the high seas forecast for early part of the night

Return pushed out till tomorrow evening again based on Stena website.

Very clearly not the planned re-stocking etc (which was why she stopped at Liverpool on her way back) and obviously something unforeseen has arisen that they're struggling to resolve

This afternoons Epsilon sailing...
"Irish Ferries regrets to advise that due to berth congestion, the MV Epsilon Cruise Ferry is delayed by approximately 30 mins. Irish ferries would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay"
Four vessels into two berths is not a good idea (when the swift is running) Congestion in Dublin is becoming a major problem and is set to get worse as works to improve the port proceed.

This could be the reason they might switch French services back to Rosslare in 2020. There are definitely rumours to that effect doing the rounds plus there have been too many occasions where berth congestion at Dublin has led to too many delays this year.

Not going to happen. Wishful thinking and nothing more.

Yeats was brought in based on building a year round freight business for Dublin-France - can't see them abandoning that after a single season

Would that not also apply to Stena Adventurer eventually? Presumably that would happen after the arrival of Estrid.

Appplies to all vessels. From 1 January they need to have significantly lower emissions - choice is to burn a lower sulphur fuel (either more expensive lower sulphur fuel oil or LNG) or else find a way to "clean" the emissions before exhausting (I.e. scrubbers).

Think the forecast for Friday night/Sat morning  is choppy enough

Is the 1 hour difference between WBY and Stena Horizon because  WBY is a faster ship?

Pretty much.

I think the difference in sailing times for WBY from Dublin to Cherbourg is only an hour or so compared to what Oscar used to do as well?

mark my words IF will be back in rosslare next year

They never left Rosslare - they've 2 departures a day still!

Assuming you meant the French service - what's your basis for this claim? I've heard nothing from my contacts in IF that would indicate any considerations of switching WB Yeats or Epsilon to Rosslare in the next 18 months.

The purpose of WB Yeats was for freight primarily. Thats why she sails from Dublin and not Rosslare due to customer preferance???.

They could operate Epsilon Dublin - Cherbourg once a forthnight if they have the loads.

My guess is as soon as the compensation issue is put to bed Oscar will reappear next Summer on Rosslare - Rosscoff after all she is still on IF books until 2025.

Changes in emissions regulations from January 2020 would have increased the running costs of Oscar quite a bit as well. If IF look to restore the Rosslare-Roscoff then it's more likely that they'd charter in (or buy) something a bit more fuel efficient, and a bit newer, than Oscar

Swift have a crew on board 24 / 7 in case Dublin Port Requests Swift to be relocated.

They normally carry out cleaning and maintenance at night.

Swift crew have cabins on the Ulysses. They work during day hours and then transfer over to Ulysses in the evening to have dinner and sleep (all whilst taking a return spin to Holyhead)

There's a separate cleaning crew that come onboard whilst overnighting in Dublin.

How will IF manage refit relief without Oscar?

I'd imagine the same way as they did in 2017 and 2018 (and prior years) when they didn't have the WBY?

She finished dry dock works last week. No berth available by DD operator in Belfast since Friday so she's just laid up in the dry dock until one frees up.
