I'v been traveling the dublin holynead route for years and I've always wondered why they depart so closely together and arrive the other end within minutes of each other. More spread out services would be great but is it something to do with freight?

I'v been traveling the dublin holynead route for years and I've always wondered why they depart so closely together and arrive the other end within minutes of each other. More spread out services would be great but is it something to do with freight?
