With it coming up to the 20th anniversary of Brittany Ferries Pont Aven's first arrival in Cork harbour on 3rd April 2004. Here's some scans of photos I took on that Saturday 20 years ago.

March 03, 2024, 08:37:01 PM
The RNLI is celebrating it's 200th anniversary this year. It was founded on 4th March 1824. Bound to be lots of media coverage this week.

BBC Radio 4 broadcast a very enjoyable and interesting one hour programme yesterday. It's available to listen to on BBC Sounds  https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001wyfm

Quote from: giftgrub on February 20, 2024, 11:00:22 PMGreat video, thanks for posting, would have to be a summer trip for me, the cold and the snow is great but the Summer views are amazing.

Those ferries are lovely, very well presented and very luxurious from what I can see, still on the bucket list.

Summer is definetly the time to go. Long days and fantastic light. Though even in summer in the far north of Norway they'll be some snow. Couple of pics from a Hurtigruten trip we took in June 2010. Taken near Oksfjord which is about 350 miles north of the artic circle line!

Quote from: ccs on February 21, 2024, 01:44:24 PMGood to see the return of the mini cruise. Did one years ago during the mk1 Oscar Wildes first full year.

Yes, its like when the Felicity was in service and the themed nights on the Rosslare sailings, party/dinner going over and sleep on the way back, if I was not working the Patricks weekend I would have been booking, would be a lovely trip and chance to experience the Vision in all its glory.

Did a June Bank Holiday lunch cruise on Felicity back in 1994. Rosslare Fishguard roundtrip.
