Stena Vision is due to be off service on the Rosslare-Cherbourg route with her last sailing scheduled for Monday 22nd April from Rosslare. According to Stena's live freight timetable, she is expected to resume on Tuesday 7th May from Cherbourg.

It is believed she is expected to go for dry docking to resolve a technical problem with one of her rudders. Stena Horizon will maintain the French route alone during her absence.

Nordica is due back on Sunday morning after which Europe will head to Falmouth.

Quote from: Niall on March 25, 2024, 08:42:38 PMIt seems almot certain that Atlantic Vision will not be joining Irish Ferries

Unconfirmed reports on Facebook that a Stena crew are onboard preparing the Atlantic Vision for its return to Europe, more likely a Tallink crew but you never know what's happening next.

Stena RoRo crew... it may be they have a contract with the ship's owner, Tallink to return her to Europe.

Quote from: Cladyman on March 22, 2024, 07:17:57 AMStena Estrid off to Liverpool - is this for maintenance?

Stena Estrid is operating normally between Holyhead and Dublin and has now returned to her normal sailing times following Stena Adventurer's return to service after overhaul.

Spirit of Britain would not fit in either Larne or Cairnryan.

Stena Line will introduce BORE SONG to their Dublin - Liverpool (Birkenhead) route in mid-April.

This will allow STENA HORIZON to return to Rosslare - Cherbourg, STENA NORDICA to return to Rosslare - Fishguard and STENA EUROPE to leave the fleet again.

Currently, Norbay is due back on the Rosslare-Pembroke route on Monday evening, 18th March. Oscar Wilde then returns to Dublin-Holyhead.

She will return 17th March
I have a feeling that this information might not be correct.

She has now been delayed until Friday 22nd March. The original date for her resuming service was 17th March.

Then Nordica will go to Birkenhead-Dublin from 23rd March until 6th April to cover for Horizon.

This is only a rumour, which actually originated on some Facebook groups.

I am aware that there is interest in ATLANTIC VISION from other companies, not Irish Ferries.

Quote from: giftgrub on March 07, 2024, 09:40:47 PMWould imagine tug might have to stay, possibly only way of keeping service open and reliable.

The faulty bow thruster parts being repaired in Rosslare so hopefully won't be too long.

It's likely Europe would need dry docking to fix her bow thruster and I can't realistically see that happening.

She's actually there for survey work, not specifically to assist the Europe, even though she has been used for that purpose. I would assume once the survey work is done she will leave.

Yes, but there must have been a reason they couldn't use her on the Irish Sea before she's needed there.

Gothica is too slow to keep schedule on the Birkenhead-Dublin route, plus there was also some mention of an issue with her belting on the 12 Quays berth at certain states of the tide.

In terms of Horizon being away from the Cherbourg route... given the lack of open deck storage on Vision, hazardous loads can't be carried and livestock will be limited.

I assume there must be a very good reason they can't/wont use Vinga on the Dublin-Birkenhead route.

More interested on topics like.

What is status of Irish Ferries finding the long term replacement for the I  try ish Sea fleet.

And for Stena the status of the Liverpool Dublin route - what ferry replacing horizon.

Is Europe staying or off to med.

So many interesting thinks to discuss other than a table calculation!

Interestingly, Stena responded to a question on X (formerly Twitter) about whether the Dublin-Birkenhead route will take passengers at any stage. In their reply they stated that they have "no intention" to take passengers and that this is "not part of the agreement" with Dublin Port to operate the route.

Having said that, I am aware they are struggling to find a suitable replacement vessel for Horizon. Nordica will cover her dry dock from 18th March. There is a suggestion they missed out on acquiring 3 potential vessels.

In much the same way, Irish Ferries are finding it difficult to find anything suitable long term for Pembroke.

Regarding the Stena Europe, there are strong suggestions that she has a Croatian charter lined up once she's finished at Fishguard.
