Is there any word on what the future of the Europe will be? Is she heading to Northern European route or sold? No spring chicken she is but there's life in the old girl, isn't there?!

The Normandy was in a state when Irish ferries got her. There was a huge clean up on her when she arrived in Dublin. Compared to the other ships in the fleet she was a big step down. Even one of her engines broke down within the first few weeks with IF. There was a lot of money spent on her by IF and they did make her look respectable for a while but it was a money pit and they had to get rid of it in the end. The Europe is a totally different kettle of fish! She is in great nick. Stena have looked after her for a long time.

The Spirit of Tasmania II has broke her moorings in high winds in Melbourne earlier. She drifted almost at a right angle to the pier and nearly became beached. The upper vehicle loading ramp was wrecked! She regained power and with the help of tugs was back on the pier.

Does the Explorer have anyone on board every day? Security staff I presume?

I would be very surprised if the Norman Atlantic will be repaired and put back into service. The cars decks would be buckled and warped I'd imagine? It looks from the outside that the ship is a total loss? Scrapping is the next thing for this ship! 

I worked on them both. The Killian was the best by far! She looked far better and better sea keeping than the Normandy. The Normandy was a big boxy thing which rolled about on the Ireland-France route!!

Aboard Normandy there a few redundant cabins on the lower levels were unruly or troublesome passengers are taken until they cool down , from what I heard one of the group while locked in the cabin began ripping off wall panels and ceiling sections , once the ceiling panels were down some of the ships internal water supply pipes ran above the cabin , genius managed to rip down some of the pipes and the cabin began to fill with water , am told water in there reached 3 feet deep before they could shut it off , ironically the genius was locked in the cabin the whole time as the water pressure against the door meant it could'nt be opened until some of it had been drained out ,

Ahhhh........ I don't think that happened on the Normandy!!! The cabin doors are not water tight and most of the water pipe work are particularly hard to get to in those cabins!

Is there any photos of Normandy on the beach in India around?

Was a crew member on normandy for years with Irish Ferries and I am saddened to see it in this state. Just goes to show that no upkeep of a ship means that it falls into disrepair quickly. Bit of waste really? Could have kept going if it was looked after?

I thought they were demolishing berth(pier) 1/2? Was it not unstable? And build it back bigger and deeper?

Looking to the long term I could see Isle of Innisfree returning to Irish Ferries service.

A two ship operation on the Dublin to Holyhead route operated by the Ulysses and Isle of Inishmore with the Isle of Innisfree returning to the Rosslare to Pembroke route maybe an option.

I think it would be good for Irish Ferries if the Isle of Innisfree was to come back to the fleet. As a second ship on the Dublin Holyhead route. They should have done it long ago! Maybe before the NZ charter (stena charter)? They could get a good slice of the market if it was to happen?
The Inishmore is suited to the rosslare route?
Maybe sell off the Swift?

Ah the Saint Killian! What a ship?! Worked on her many moons ago.
Would love to see some model pics of her, when ready or in progress?
I remember the model of her in hotel Rosslare. Where is that now?
