A83, thanks for the info. Enjoy your holiday. To marsav68, you'll find a link to the form on BF's Irish website. Click on the covid tab (on the left) and go to "Travel Information and F@Qs" and then the + sign by French requirements.

Booked on PA in a fortnight's time from Cork. Is main restaurant going to be open with all covid restrictions? Hope so as it's one of the best things about the trip.

With reference to the train services to/from Rosslare Europort, there has been talk in Ireland that this service from Dublin may be stopped at Gorey. Foot passengers may have to resort to the buses which do regularly call at the port.

Stena Europe has been stuck in Fishguard overnight twice this week, blaming adverse weather, whist IF' Inishmore keeps sailing. Normally bad weather affects the Inishmore, sonwhat's going off?

More to the point, why was that not in the original design, knowing the ports it would be mooring at?

IF haven't quite got their act together on sailing updates as both ships appear to be in two places at the same time.

whilst we were on holiday a friend, who lives overlooking Rosslare Port, says they were woken up one night by a very loud bang. They reckon it was Stena Europe cloutng the dock side, and that sailings were cancelled for a couple of days. Anybody know anything?

Had text & emails fro BF Thursday afternoon to say Pont Aven sailing 1500 Friday (not 2030). Did some quick last minute shopping, and checked out of holiday accommodation early Friday. En route more info from BF to say now sailing even earlier and we did at 1400 French time. Not too bad a crossing as we ran ahead of the storm. A bit bumpy up until midnight, but docked in Ringaskiddy at 0230. We got a good night's sleep as embarkation didn't start until 0800. Home early. Didn't notice until later that those on IF Epsilon not so lucky. She sailed at 1630 Friday but anchored of Sidmouth until 0800 Saturday and not expected Dublin until 0800 on Sunday.

Let's hope this route will be available to ordinary folk as well as freight. Dublin is a nightmare to access, and being only forty minutes from Rosslare we'd look to use it. Stena's vessel is OK but the timings are all wrong.

W B Yeats 2020 schedule out today on IF website. It's all Dublin-Cherbourg, and you can't book it yet. No sign of anything from IF out of Rosslare fir France.

Reference the comment about year-round W B Yeats to France; this isn't the case, as Epsilon will do the run to the continent in the winter months, the the new vessel doing Dublin-Holyhead. One of the moans this summer is that meals aren't being served in WBY's Club Class Lounge, as advertised on the web. The stewards onboard say this is meant to happen on the Dublin-Holyhead route as the Lady Gregory restaurant will be shut.

Am I missing something or is the W B Yeats regularly late arriving in Dublin and Cherbourg, despite calm weather, and not by just a few minutes but at least an hour. Do IF need to amend the timetable for next year?

Besides Liverpool-Dublin what other routes do Seatruck serves?

Apologies but Longtimereader is comparing apples and oranges. Flying involved car-parking at home airport and hire car charges in France. Also ferry passengers are often taking camping gear or towing caravans/trailers, and want to bring wine and other goodies back (impossible on a plane).
Do agree that de luxe cabins are far too expensive and those who pay for these have money to burn. At €900+ for commodore cabins onboard WB Yeats - you can have a four day cruise for that.

A lot of the staff on WB Yeats are from the Oscar Wilde and aren't happy with the new ship, including the fact that they now have to share cabins, which they didn't on the Oscar. Some are embarrassed by the prices charged in the Lady Gregory
