Title: FSG - Two more orders on the way
Post by: giftgrub on January 09, 2018, 08:26:05 PM
This time heading down under, two more large cruise ferry orders for FSG, they are going to busy.

A European success story.

Thanks for this.  Where do we speculate that the existing two vessels might end up?  Back in Europe?  Stena?

No idea, these two operate on a fairly tough route would think by the time they are released by the new builds, either further work down under or possibly one of the med routes.

They got big refits last year so should be sought after vessels.

The new builds look to have a similar hull form to Irish Ferries and Brittany Ferries FSG orders, obviously there will be similarities with the vessels all being built by same yard.

First of two roros for FSG's owner - the Siem Group, both to be chartered to the Moby Group.

Sisters to the Gardenia Seaways, Tulipa Seaways, Fadiq and Meliq.

Is it not Brittany Ferries Honfleur? Or is that the next one after?

No - why would it be when it isn't delivered until late spring next year?

As I said in my post there will be two roro hulls built before the Honfleur.

I think we need to remember that FSG are capable of launching a new compete hull every 3-6 months, to which the prefabricated superstructure will be welded after it is shipped in from Poland and all the necessary connections made. In 2005 they actually managed to deliver no less than 5 RoRo vessels (all of the same design)! The RoRo's (775 and 776) are due to be delivered by the end of 2018.
