Was on the Europe on Friday as well on the afternoon crossing from Fishguard, Kerry and Vinga were in Rosslare on arrival.
On the trip out watching the tugs remove trailers from the top deck of the Vinga is like watching a storage version of Tetris as they manoeuvre the trailers to get down the ramp.
A great feeling to be back to some normality and a wonderful feeling to be sitting in the Plus lounge again on the Europe after its facelift/ COVID delays, the onboard upgrades are very subtle but it’s in great condition and the staff are as always a pleasure to deal with.
Only negative on the Europe now would be the toilets (gents)on deck 8 which are grim.(Nordica was not any better two years ago)
The whole vessel has received a nice update and the outside deck spaces are fantastic, new handrails and perfect paintwork all round, when we docked in Fishguard on the Friday night before, the Europe was too high in the water to use the side ramp and for the first time (in my experience)we came off from deck five out the bow door, never knew there was so much space on the ferry.
Also noted in Fishguard the coffee dock (after check in)is gone and there is a huge sign for Border Shop by R&F Retail which is probably going into the building as it would be ideal use of space but they will need to bring cars through earlier to maximise the buying time.
If you have any time off from work left take a few days in Wales and get a break from the last two years, checked out St David’s, Solva, Marloes, Dale, Tenby and some retail therapy in Bridgend and that’s not to mention the Duty Free !!
