why is nobody taking them on with services from heysham or liverpool to belfast

The News Board / p and o irish sea strategy
« on: March 27, 2021, 09:15:39 pm »
seems strange  dry dock strategy
build liverpool dublin up to 4 ships during quiet times
now getting a little busier and norbank is withdrawn to go to cryan
leaving no driver accompagnied peak ship ex liverpool
ship going to cryan is not likely to be able to move the larger deckers
previous proven relief ship from dover parked up for sale
seems mixed messages

The News Board / what is the big picture
« on: March 27, 2021, 09:09:58 pm »
one ship clearly wont work on dover calais
p and o have suitable ships for sale  but if they are to continue one wouldnt think they would sell to a competitor
on irish sea they clearly need a n ireland service
dover has no space for unnaccompagnied trailers
calais on other hand has some space  could we be seeing a daily service from dublin to calais with some link to dover calais?
are dfds about to be challenged
could irish ferries want to purchase some or all of p and o routes?
could there be some form of strategic alliance between p and o and irish ferries?
could irish ferries first shipping company to provide full customs services as part of standard shipping booking?
will they keep epsilon  is it up for renewal this year?

The News Board / what will change in next 3 months
« on: January 11, 2021, 05:44:20 pm »
almost all cargo going on new dfds rosslare service and enhanced stena capacity  is traffic that would previously have gone through Holyhead or fishguard/Pembroke
likewise many trailers a day would have come from north to move Dublin Holyhead
add in big natural decline re Brexit
what happens next
will irish ferries/stena run a joint service at rosslare and release a ship
what reduction will there be at Holyhead  is it possible irish ferries run 2 ships to Cherbourg leaving only ullyyses on Holyhead till volumes pick up
could stena transfer one of their ships to go rosslare cherbourd
what about  p and o is 4 ships sustainable  Liverpool Dublin     could they sart a continental service ex Dublin with norbay norbank and just leave the 2 charter ships on Liverpool Dublin
Seatruck have no ships that take more than 12 drivers  what happens to them
when will passengers return to market
these are challenging times
who will thrive who will fail
how much change will there be
will there be casualties
would really welcome everyones ideas

been suspended indefinitely
anyone know if permanent
a real sign of the times
i wonder has it any implications for the rest of p and o ferries
good luck to everyone impacted

broke its moorings in larne
now technical as a result

seems very strange
any idea what would prompt this strategy

or will if continue with planned weekend sailings epsilon hhead to dub
