Martine Jourdren has been named by the Brittany Ferries supervisory board as the new Group Managing Director of Brittany Ferries - she replaces Jean-Michel Giguet who has left the company to pursue other options.
The company's Executive Board is also to welcome two new members - Christophe Mathieu, Marketing Director and Jacques Prigent, who from my translation is Director of Ships and Ports (and ex master of the MONT ST MICHEL)..
It is further reported that, David Longden, Managing Director for the United Kingdom and Ireland, is no longer on the Executive Board.
The news was greeted with surprise by staff.
Martine Jourdren, 57, joined the company when it started in 1973 and seems to have a financial background. Described as "a woman of character" it is said she worked closely with Alexis Gourvennec, the president and founder of the company.
