your missing the point here. There is a Euro 2'000 fine per person for non essential overseas travel,

By the time Mid July comes it may be possible to travel on vaccine passport so before you attempt to travel to France you will know exactly where you stand without unncessary out of pocket expenses.

Epsilon may be covering Dublin Cherbourg while WB Yeats goes to Drydock

Epsilon was delayed going into service first due to issues with training and a life boat.

Hopefully Mega Express 4 will not take too long to go into service.

Mega Express 4 has more lane metres than Oscar Wilde had.

She was modified to increase her cabin capacity from 1950 LM to 1400 LM.

She is a sister of the Brittany Ferries Vessel Cap Finist?re.

She has a dip pool on her upper deck and good facilities on board.

The lease is initially for 2 months, however given Covid and Brexit and post covid demand she may hang around for longer.

Irish Ferries Full timetable will be released in the coming days.

My guess is there may be a surprise in store.

The two ships would be ideal platforms to build upon, given their current freight capacity.

European Seaway could go straight onto Dublin - Cherbourg opposite the Epsilon allowing a daily frequency and Pride of Burgandy could provide refit cover on Dublin - Holyhead allowing Epsilon to continue un-interupted on Dublin - Cherbourg.

Longer term they could have their superstructures modified to increase their cabin and vehicle capacities.

This is an annual event normally performed by Stena Europe.

:( Maybe they are going to lease them to DFDs for Rosslare - Dunkirk Convoy.

Remember Stena Vinga is overweight.

We are comparing apples and cabbages here.

Both Stena and Irish Ferries dont see the investment being worth it. In fact Irish Ferries will run run a freight only service  on Dublin - Cherbourg from 1 Jan 2021 to 25 May 2021 according to current timetables.

The big question will be will there be enough denand for the new DFD service to last beyond easter.
