It's been a few years since Europe was last in Dublin.

She was on Dublin-Holyhead route earlier this year. When Stena Estrid was on Rosslare-Cherbourg.
Of course I completely forgot about that.

A new report in today's Irish Times shows that freight/truck movements on the Dublin Holyhead route have fallen by 30% in the first nine months of this year with Rosslare experiencing a similar drop in trade. However direct routes to the continent have grown by 370% in the same time period, there is also a big increase in traffic on NI routes.

Stena Ro/RO's M/F Sassnitz is currently en route to Lisbon (posssibly to a shipyard) she had been running between Sweden and Germany until the route closed last year. If you haven't seen the ship she has a very unusual visor arrangement on her bow doors.

The News Board / Re: Isle of Inishmore to launch Dover - Calais route

The route is aimed primarily at hauliers offering them a one booking direct service to Ireland from France and was the reason IF gave for launching the service it offers a shorter crossing time than direct sailings and is less likely to be affected by bad weather conditions.

Rumours that Calais Seaways, having been replaced by the new Côte D’Opale, is bound for Irish Ferries as the 2nd ship on the Dover Calais route. These rumours have been on other forums and sites for a few months with nothing to back it up. It is now on her wiki page
"Speculation and rumours have surfaced that she might be sold to Irish Ferries and complement the Isle of Inishmore on their Dover-Calais service, however no official statement has been released from either DFDS, Irish Ferries or anyone else, so her future for now is uncertain".
I don't know but good 2nd hand tonnage is a bit scarce so maybe a short term charter?

How long can IF keep Dover a one ship operation? It's all going well at the moment with the ship in good condition and the weather being fairly good. Are there any rumours about additional tonnage being lined up to join IOI?
Meanwhile Swift is back in business today.
