To be fair a website for a port isn't that important.
The issue with Rosslare Port is essentially Irish Rail rape the decent income the port generates to subsidise the inefficient rail network.
The port would be much better out of Irish Rail hands, it's only then the other issues will be dealt with.
100% agree but I feel the Ports website shows the level of interest the current management have for the port, At the very least the info provided should be correct.
As a comparison check out Dublin airport website and compare Rosslare port website, both firms provide services in the travel industry (on vastly different levels) one is bang up to date, one is out of date.
Given Ulysess' age, I would have expected some serious upgrading/modernisation to have taken place by now. I think I'm right in saying that her arch-rival, Stena Adventurer, has had a couple of facelifts to date.
Theres a few up there who would be plsd
Cinderella does a very specific 22 hour cruise itinerary; it would be wierd to come out of that market and leave it all to Birka.
here we are just entering feb
am I correct in saying apart from when strike was on
this is the most sailings ever missed in a year with nearly 11 months to go for this splendid ship
is age catching up
Viking Line is planning a new ship, that will replace M/S Amorella on the Stockholm-Turku route.
What will happen to Amorella? Viking Line has pre-nounced that the maybe will sell her.
If Viking Line sell her, who might be a buyer?
Would there be enough traffic to justify a 2 ship service, especially given the competition from WB Yeats?
Going off topic here, but
Lagan and Mersey could end up replacing Horizon in Rosslare, offering daily departures to France.
Horizon and Epsilon cost 15,000 US Dollars a day to rent, to Stena and IF respectively, could even see Epsilon in Stena colours when charter with IF ends, Horizon and Epsilon on Rosslare Spain service !
I have heard similar rumours about Stena Lagan and Stena Mersey replacing Scottish Viking and Stena Flavia.
Why would they replace the Stena Jutlandica though? By all accounts she is very successful on the Goteborg-Fredrikshavn route and carries large amounts of freight.
Hold on isn't Stena Horizon being replaced by either Stena Lagan or Stena Mersey at Rosslare. Unless Stena Flavia replaces the Horizon when the time comes.
They must of resolved this issue with the new builds,
I wonder is it due to the dredging of the port last year.
