The Visby was built in 2002 by COMEC Guangzhou Shipyard, Guangzhou, China as a fast cruiseferry with a maximum speed of 29kts. The ship, designed as a day ferry, has a capacity of 1500 passengers (with 115 passenger cabins) and deck space for 500 cars (or 120 lorries).
