Waterford-Little Island

The small private chain/cable ferry provides the only link to the mainland from Little Island, enabling guests and services to access the Waterford Castle Hotel and Golf Course.

Departing from Granstown, a suburb of Waterford, the Little Island Ferry operates 24 ours a day, every day and can carry six cars. She runs on cables and was purchased from Scandinavia to replace the Strongbow which was also chain operated and named after the historic warrior who built Reginalds tower in Waterford.

Strongbow was purchased in September 2001 by Bere Island Ferries to be the center section of a work platform.
