Dont be too surprised if she is leased to Irish Ferries in Winter 2018.

Swift will be nearly 20 years old around that time.

Fred Olsen have already said she will be based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.  I assume that means she will be replacing the current vessel, BONANZA EXPRESS which will be 19 years old around that stage.  They haven't published the 2018 timetable yet.

Swift crew say the Swift is showing her age during maintenance and IF will need to look at replacing her within a year or two.

Hence her being reduced to summer only service as many of us suspected.  Might give her another couple of years though that she wouldn't of had if she continued to be used year round.  Personally I feel if ICG persevere with a fast craft they would be as well buying/chartering new (or even nearly new) rather than patching something already well worn up.
