Quote from: archer on April 01, 2023, 02:32:56 PMThe webpage was down for a few days and the webcams are still offline.
Looks like their IT system has been hacked.

Thanks for that, I was wondering what had happened.

Quote from: ferryfan on April 07, 2022, 01:13:44 PMGalicia to take over the Rosslare-Bilbao route from November this year replacing Conemara.

BF Spanish timetable for 22/23 is now open for booking. It's showing Salamanca taking over from Connemara. Connemaras last sailing from Rosslare is on 6th November. Looks like Galicia won't be on the route til April 2023.
Looks like Salamanca is taking over the route today, on her way to Rosslare and departed Cherbourg after Connemara arrived.

Yes the engines can operate on conventional fuel but does she have the fuel tanks to do that , any info about her propulsion system seems to be about LNG and nothing else .

Honfleur and WB Yeats working in tandem on the Dublin Cherbourg route would represent a powerful commercial statement and commitment to the Ireland France link.
Honfleur was built to operate on LNG with a pretty unique system of LNG tanks delivered by road transport from an LNG terminal in France and loaded onboard using the ships own gantry crane, if IF  ferries were to operate her they would be very limited  as to what route she could operate on. She was built with only one route in mind for Brittany Ferries Portsmouth/Caen .

How many Irish crew on their ships ...??..dont forget Irish Ferries almost killed off the last of the Irish seafares in favour of cheap labour ...pure corparate greed ..ruthless company in my opinion ...an island nation with practicly no merchant navy
Well if that's the case then the Irish fishing fleet are as guilty , most of their crews are from Eastern Europe and North African, why is that ! something to do with Irish people don't want to do that type of work anymore plain and simple.

Who cares about the flag logo on the funnel...to be honest they shouldnt be allow call themselves Irish or have a shamrock any where near them
Well they are an Irish registered company so what else would they call themselves , the ships just happen to be registered in a fellow EU country just like Arklow shipping who  have the prefix " Arklow" on all their ships with nineteen of the ships registered in Holland  flying the Dutch flag . There is also the chartered vessels in Irish Ferries livery , Epsilon Italian flag and now Blue Star 1 flying the Greek flag , all fellow EU countries .

I guess that this new service will start effectively with Irish Ferries buying or chartering ex-Calais Seaways, which is due to cease service with DFDS in June 2021.
It's basically a land bridge with Inishmore operating the connection between Dover and Calais .

How come , it appears to be running the same way on both sides as it should !

A logo like that should always appear the same no matter what the direction of travel, so the flag should slope up from left to right.
So on Blue Star it is showing as a flag would look from both sides, and on the rest of the fleet it's showing as a logo should , correct !
